The $9.99 deal is at the CompUsa B&M. It is $29.99 - $10 MIR on-line.
They also have a Belkin 4 hub at OfficeMax B&M for $19.99. I don't think you can apply the $10 MIR to the OfficeMax deal as the rebate, although a manufacturers rebate and not CompUSA, specifically states "CompUSA" in the small print.

Don't get this cheap hub, pick up this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=488&cat=567&scat=568&e=11016233. BB has it for $29.99 and a $10 rebate, PM with an extra 10% off with OM who is selling it for $19.99 without rebate and after the rebate it's less than $9.
i.e: $29.99 (BB price) - $10.00 (PM to OM price) - $ 1.00 (10% of difference) - $10.00 (MIR) = $ 8.99

I have one of these 4-port Belkin USB hubs that I bought from CompUSA a few months ago. Even though it's a powered hub I've had problems with it providing enough power for some devices. As a result it's sitting on the shelf (actually in a box someplace). Somehow I suspect that a great deal on something that functions inadequately really isn't a great deal at all.

You did set the switch to tell it to operate as a powered hub, I assume? I'm using mine in that fashion and it has not had any problems operating a 500mA device on it, even with all 3 other ports in use.

This was free after rebate at Circuit City a couple of weeks ago, and with a limit 2 of, no less.
