comp slower after reformat

i reformatted my hard drive because comp was messed up. i installed all of the latest drivers now and then ran a few timedemos and it runs about 10% slower at the same settings than before i reformatted. 😕 any idea what could cause something like this? heres my specs if it matters:
2800+ 754
epox 8kda3j
6600 gt
1gb pc3200 ram
80gb western digital ide hard drive

You loaded the latest nforce driver package and did this before loading video drivers?

yep. is that even really critical anyway?

Just make sure all your drivers are up to date, and that your OS is up to date with service packs. Unless you have windows XP - no sp2, ever.

i dont see the need for sp2 except the firewall and virus blocker.
