Comp not POSTing

After hooking up an older, second hdd to the computer to try and get some data off it, the computer no longer posts. When it's turned on it makes a beeping noise after a few seconds, and repeats that noise every other second. Did I fry my mobo or reg. hdd or something? This is very urgent and I would appreciate all help and suggestions. I tried pressing the CMOS button but no luck. Thanks.

You have a Reset CMOS button? Woah..
Which rig?

Try disconnecting that other harddrive and let us know what's going on.

It was the new rig. But I solved the problem. Looks like a stick of ram came a little lose so I reset them both and now everything is back to normal. Thanks for the quick responses, and I did disconnect the other HD.

^--- That happened once to me too 😛 (RAM stick came loose) - it was SO annoying once I figured out that problem. And yeah, that happened while I was trying to connect a 2nd harddrive 😉.
