Comp not able to boot!

Zero In

I just go tmyself an ABIT KR7A-RAID and an Athlon XP 1600+ with the ThermalRight SK6 heatsink.

Why does my computer fail to boot? I have yet to enter the BIOS even once! It failed to boot right from the very start. And the monitor fails to detect any signals form the computer, so nothing appears on the screen.

It's not the graphics adapter as I tried switching cards. Nor is it the problem of the power supply, as all fans rotate and LEDs light up. I even tried it with another power supply. Nor is it the problem with the monitor. I tried with another monitor.

So what is the problem?

ya, if something is wrong with the mobo you should hear a series of beeps. Let us know what the series of beeps is (Like 1 short 2 long and 1 short) and we should be able to figure out what is going on.

Well I would personally take everything back out and start all over again verifying jumper settings, cpu clock settings etc.... as well as make sure everything is seated ok and your power supply is big enough to power everything. a standard 250watt power supply should be fine as long as it is good. Also make sure that there is no shared pci/agp or any other ports. see your mobo manual on that.

Seems like I got a burnt AMD CPU. But how could this happen???
The motherboard is jumperless........ and I have not been able to boot at all..........
so no way I messed some settings.

Same board. Similar problem. Ended up that the board was shorting somewhere against my case. I figured it out by remving the board and running it outside the case.
