hey guys im new to these forums but i really could use some help.

I just upgraded my p3 to a p4 2.5 ... everything loads up fine until a screen pops up and says windows did not load proporally ... then u know it gives you the options load windows in safe mode , or try and load windows in the last working option and all the other options. Now here is the problem ... when i select any option the computer just sites for a second or two then restarts. Can soemone please tell me whats going on ... is my CPU messed up or something ?
Also i tried 2 or 3 diffrent working HD's and they all give me the same thing but when i put them in my other working comp windows xp loads up fine ;/

Just one question? Did you actualy do a fresh install of windows, or did you put in a hard drive that already had windows and expect it to run?

I would run memtest on your memory. List your full system specs as well, that will help greatly. Do you have the 4 pin 12v atx connector plugged in to your motherboard(it's square, with 4 pins, 2 yellow wires, 2 black wires)?

What CPU does you friend have? You still haven't told us your full system specs. I suppose it's possible that it's the CPU, it's just highly unlikely is all. Usualy if a CPU is bad, the computer won't boot up at all..
