Hi there,

when I open my computer everything starts booting like normal but the screen won't turn on and says PLEASE CHECK SIGNAL CABLE. Then after a few secondas it says OFF MODE IN 5 SECONDS and the screen turns "off".

I'm at a loss right now. I had this problem with my previous computer but it stoped on it's own.

On my powerbar (with surge protection) there's a green light (to tell it's ON) and there's a red light (I think it's for power losses or something). The red light goes on and off.

Is it a power issue in my appartment? Or maybe my powerbar is dead?

Do you have any clues?
Thanks a lot.

It's a simple test to switch the power bar or plug the monitor directly into the wall. Give it a shot.

That was my first idea, i'll try it tonight after work.
And btw, you don't think it could be my monitor? (Viewsonic P95f+b)
Thanks Slikkster.

Can you boot into safe mode? Maybe the refresh rate is outside of the monitors capability.

I can't even see anything on the monitor.

I'll try plugging it directly in the wall and i'll try a different powerbar to see if it works.
