comp hang up problem, seeking suggestions

I have a 600 duron overclocked to 900 on a kt7 non raid mobo. Taisol hs/f is coming but the problem is that the comp freezes up everytime i use winamp. I have the newest winamp 2.66 and have also tried sonique. The sound card i have is the mx300 by diamond. I have tried the newest via 4in1 drivers and still get the problem. Not sure what to try next.

the system should be stable. i have been able to run 3dmark2000 several times without any problem, not to mention i can play games and surf, etc. My comp also runs ics for several other computers without any problems. I've been able to run the comp sucessfully over the weekend without playing mp3's continuously, its just when i start the player it randomly locks up at some point of the song. However, i will try underclocking later tonight at home. thanks!

just wondering , have you tryed running your mp3's through any other programs, like napster?
