So I just finished building my new comp, got everything loaded all my programs installed all my saved games and mp3's copied over, and when installing SP2, it froze.. almost. It would update a frame every 30 seconds and it wasn't going anywhere. So I hit restart and now I can't boot up. It gets to the Windows XP Logo with the 3 blue square progress bar right before the log on screen and it just sits there scrolling the bars over and over. I also can't boot in safe mode, it freezes up when it gets to the .sys file loading screen. Any help guys? :(

try to boot up to the windows XP cd. then hit R to go into recovery console. when it ask you which instalation hit the # of it and hit enter, it will probably be #1. then hit enter when it ask you for admin password. type "fixboot" once you get in. that should fix it. you could also try "fixmbr". if all this fails I would to a soft repair to windows im sure this will fix it. this is almost the same as what i listed excpet when you boot to CD you hit enter as if you were going to install the hit R for repair.
