Comp Emergency

I put my computer in hibernate every night so I dont have to listen to it while sleeping. When I wanted it to resume this morning, it froze on the log in screen. I rebooted and got the same thing. Then the sata controller stopped recognizing my hd so I went through bios and got it to recognize again. Still get the same freeze up on the log in screen. Its getting very close till the time my class starts and I have ran out of ideas. This thread should of gone in general hardware forum, but I know I will get a faster answer here. I am using a asus k8v for mobo.

wrong forum dumba$$, there is a hardware forum, you will get the same response time, people in here dont know computers for the most part, and are'nt very helpful. And those that are, do it for a living, and prolly dont want to help to be nice

"Sounds like a hardware issue, I only deal with network issues.. call the helpdesk."

That's what I tell people all the time here.....

"Oh, you are the helpdesk? call second level desktop support then."

Chill out forum nazi. Guess I will post in the hardware forum too then.

Take your hdd out and put it into another computer and get the paper printed off. That's probably the easiest way to get the paper asap.

if running out of time, seriously bring the hard drive to class! tell the prof it is right here on this disk, i don't have a system to load it on, let me load it up on yours in your office right after class.

backups onto what? i don't expect my computer to fail in the morning when it was working the night before.. although i do use windows xp and perhaps should 🙂

The safe mode thing is the best bet i think, otherwise, SATA compatible computer... good luck, i'm working to shell out a paper right now too
