My PC randomly crashes with purple stripes all across the screen. I think this may have to do with my video card overheating (although sometimes it happens when I'm not even doing anything graphic intensive).
I recently installed speedfan, and right now with only Chrome, Steam, and Winamp open the GPU is at 80C and the Core is at 80C as well. Are these temperatures a bit high for a somewhat idling PC?

I just tested the temp with 5 mins of playing TF2, it goes up to 90+ and I quit before it got any higher. I'm not familiar with temperatures, so is this high or not?

It seems my "Core" temp is always the same as my GPU temp, what does that mean?

I think it's high, but not knowing what you're using I can't say. Have you cleaned your pc lately? Use canned air to clean your vid card and see if the temps drop.

The numbers definitely look high, especially if you are only at idle. Does your pc have any fans to move air around inside? Like WB said above, it would help to also know what hardware you have running.

open the case up, get a house fan and start blowing on ur vid card and see if the problem's fixed, if it is that means you need to probably clean up ur case and put some extra fans on it.
