Hello Experts,
I have a
XP2100 on the Abit ND7-S board with 256 PC2100, 128MB Video card. For some weird problem, it shuts down by itself when I TMPEG something. I assume that something is wrong with my heat sink but the CPU fan is running though. I am struggling over this issue and have no idea on how to solve it. Can someone help me please? Oh one last thing, I even tried to reinstall windows XP Pro, but when it shuts down by itself too. Weird.. Strange.. no idea.. Can u guys help this poor boy? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem and in my case it was the CPU overheating.
In the short term take the side case off the computer,it may help with ventilation.
Long term better heatsink&fan or get a better airflow through your computer with extra system fans

I believe you're problem is w/ your RAM because your computer's restarting at a specific instruction..and not at random loads....nothing's overclocked right?

only 1 stick of 256 RAM eh?.....do you have another?.. anyways..

http://www.memtest86.com/

go there, download there bootable software (just put it in a disk or burn in onto CD)...

it will rigoriuosly test your RAM...if there's any errors...it's a safe bet your RAM's defective....and just get new ram from newegg or zipzoomfly or something...

good rucks!
