I logged into my machine this morning and had the Comodo Free firewall nag me about a new update waiting to be installed. Other than it taking forever, I didn't expect much...

However on rebooting, I noticed the Windows security popup waiting for Comodo to turn back on say "Comodo Firewall Pro", so after it actually came up, I opened it and lo, it does indeed brand itself as Comodo Firewall Pro, with a lifetime subscription and full license. I'm not sure if anything else has changed, but I am noticing a few differences already (systray icon changes showing traffic).

This might just be an unexpected bonus.

Just a naming change, they didn't want their firewall compared to the free version of ZoneAlarm when it should be compared to the full version of it.

Sunny D, how do you like Comodo? I heard it can really test your patience with installation and set-up but if you know what you are doing it is well worth the time. True or not? The reason I ask is because as soon as my subscription runs out I am dumping Sunbelt's Kerio Firewall.

What I like about the latest version is that you don't have to enter license information. :)

It's fine. The install and setup are your average app - setup.exe, next next next finish. Its learning mode gets annoying after a while, but it's good to know it works. Honestly, I'm not a good judge to ask since I've never used anything other than the Windows Firewall (which worked fine for me). I briefly user Kerio for a bit, but it felt way too outdated. Comodo does what's advertised, has decent enough logging (which is all I really wanted) and just plain works. Besides, the price is right. :)
