Como Estas Dell?

So I managed to get in on the awesome Dell laptop deals yesterday but I accidentaly left MS Office Basic in my system config. No big deal I thought, I'll just call in and change it right? Should be easy. WRONG. WRONG AGAIN.

On hold for 45 minutes at least and I get a person whom I have to repeat my order/customer number 3 times before she says "Oh I can't help you call this number but did I assist you?" WTF?

So now I finally got ahold of a guy who can't understand what I'm trying to do. So I explain to him I'd like to swap out MS Office Basic for Wordperfect productivity pack that is $129 less and for 15 minutes he just kept replying with "but uh itsa standard package". Finally I got through to him only I spend another 30 minutes of him trying fix the damn order. I get the new order number and I'm happy right? WRONG.

I check my order number listing (where it shows all my previous orders and price) Except that the NEW order is $10 MORE than the original! What the hell! I do a side by side comparison of the two order numbers and I notice that they sneaked in MS Encyclopedia 2004, it wasn't even on my original order!! So I sent an email to Dell complaining about their crappy call center who can't understand their customers AND screwing up orders.

UPDATE: I got to speak with a supervisor and he apologized for the service I had to endure and he upgraded me to 1GB of ram free 😀

Cliff notes:
Ordered wrong package for my laptop
Called dell only to be in hell
still pissed

Looks like Dell is the Nissan of computers 😉 NOTED!

I love my Inspiron 8200 I bought last year but my dad's latitude c600 from a couple years back has broken hinges for the LCD so I'm giving him my 8200.

Thank you for calling smell computers...
is your computer plugged in?
is your monitor turned on?

Thats odd because Dell only sent their Tech support over seas, their Sells center are still located in Nashville and Texas. I know because I have a friend who works SBS for Dell in Nashville.

If you were calling Tech Support for an order error, you're the idiot..not them.

So let me get this straight, I'm paying them for a product that I can tailor to my needs and if I screwed up I'm supposed to deal with it?

There's something called Customer Service, yes I screwed up but so what, I shouldn't have to endure hours of waiting and incompetent people to get something I'm PAYING FOR.

Saulbadguy, get a clue or stop having dad buy your stuff 🙂

I got a really good Indian rep the other day. He refunded my shipping charges right away (it was supposed to be free) and even called my house twice with all the confirmation numbers and everything. He wasn't the easiest to understand, but he got everything worked out for me!

I had a really good experience with AT&T National Business Services too. I called around 2am EST and got routed to the normal CS cause NBS was closed, and the lady was really nice, put down a comment on my account that their system was down and to give me a discount. Called the next day when NBS was open, got through right away and got a nice old lady. She told me all about the phones that were available, then waived my activation and shipping fees 🙂 I ended up getting a new $130 phone for $35 after all my discounts and whatnot. Very pleasant experience compared to earlier ones that I've had w/ AT&T!
