I lived in Houston, and have driven through LA in rush hour traffic.
LA is far far far far worse than Houston could ever dream of.

I've driven LA to Vegas, Atlanta, Houston, etc.

The WORST road (IMHO) to drive is hands down the Long Island Expressway.

I dunno, I think all places have some bad traffic, but certain places in L.A. are just guaranteed to have major traffic that traffic radio doesn't even report it, it's kind of like a given. There are like 8 of them in the morning and lots more in the eve.

I do the Atlanta commute. 23 miles each way. You're either going 90 MPH or 5 MPH. Lots of assholes out there for a "friendly" souther city.

There are several spots on my commute where a lane runs out (turns into a turn lane) and all of the traffic has to merge into 1 lane. The 1 real lane gets backed up every time. So, every day you see the same assholes driving down the turn lane as if they just forgot it would become a turn lane. Then they seem to think I'm a jerk when I don't let them in.

Then you have the morons who drive up to the toll booth in the left lane, which is the cruise card lane. Every day they seem to forget the the toll booth is there. "Oh yeah, a toll booth. Time to slam on my brakes and cut across 4 lanes without looking." WTF.

Forget about it if there's a drop of rain. There will always be some idiot in the left lane with his emergency blinkers on going 25 MPH. Then in the next lane there is a constant stream of trucks/SUVs going 80+ MPH in the rain, in heavy traffic.

If there is any snow the city shuts down. Actual snow would be ok probably, but we mostly just get ice.

Then you drive through Buckhead. You get rows of Hummers, Escalades, etc. on big chrome wheels, along with soccer moms in their SUVs, none of them can stay in their own freakin lane, much less park the damn things without taking 2 spots.

I could go on, but I'm starting to get pissed off just sitting here.
