The writers are what make this kind of show work. Just when you think it going to turn bland and predictable, they throw in a joke that keeps you watching.
Chevy Chase can re-energize his career if they allow his character to stretch the humor. Joel McHale knows comedy from seeing the worst examples on his other show.
I'm hoping that this show makes it.

Yeah, comedies are all about the writing first and foremost, though of course the acting/delivery is critical. It's why Arrested Development was so awesome, the use of double (and a couple of triples) entendres and the characters was very well done, and some of the recurring plot elements would just come back in a crazy way.
The pilot for this show was great, I'm hoping the series can be consistently good.

2nd episode fell flat. Huge dropoff in quality.
Very, very disappointing.

That spanish rap at the end was AWESOME.
I found this too as did a friend of mine. I don't know why they didn't include john oliver, the best guy from the pilot, in this one. Who knows, i will give it a third shot because the first was so good. Then it's off if it doesn't buck up.Originally posted by: techs
