Communication problem with machine on domain?

So I was having issues with a machine, so I decided to take it out from the domain, rename it and rejoin. That worked fine, and I was able to get to a a network file share no problem.

However, when I try to add a domain account to the local admin group of the machine, it doesn't let me. I don't have the option to select any domains in the list, only the local machine is listed. When I type it in manually that doesn't work either. Strange! Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

When I add a domain users, I have to add it as username in the first box, domain in the lower box in add users. The next screen lets me select administrator. Do you not see this?

I do see that, but when I try to add a domain account to a certain group on the machine, it doesn't see the domains when looking through the list, and when it type it in manually it doesn't see it either. I'll try to get a screenshot later.

Type in the fully qualified domain maybe?

I've tried that as well with no luck.

I took a screenshot of it here.. it is not showing the domain as a choice for some reason, even though I just rejoined it to the domain. AFAIK, no other machines are doing this

I can't take a screenshot right now, but there's a dialog that I have where you just type in the name of the domain once joined, and windows resolves it. I've never used the UI you have there.

I think I have seen that one and it is not resolving the domains after I type them in. I just tried the same thing on another pc and it worked normally.

Control Panel, System

Full computer name show computername.domainname or just computername ?

Just double checked and the Full computer name does show computername.domainname.

Now it is saying, when I try to connect to another server from this machine that:

The system may have detected a possible compromise to security. Please make sure that you can contact the server that authenticated you.

I tested pinging the DCs and that worked too but it seems like this machine has connectivity problems with the domain controller. I already tried remove/re-add to domain and I don't know if there's another way to go besides reformat?

hmm?
