After watching all these shows on TLC/Discovery Channel and listening to my dads stories, I wonder how people can be so stupid. Wear a mask when robbing a bank, wear latex gloves, cut the power, etc. Geez, I bet you I could devise a good plan. And when killing people, damn, dump the bodies in the middle of no where, were no hikers/runners will find. I'm not planning to rob a bank or kill someone, but I wonder why were some so dumb and getting caought easily? And i'm not syaing killing and robbing banks is a good thing and the killers should of walked free, but I think you get my point.

I agree, most of the criminals generally do things very sloppy and without covering all their tracks and making contingency plans. They expect that if they rob the bank, it won't take too long, and the cops won't show up. What if the plan goes wrong and they do show up? What if they find that dead body I've been hiding in my trunk for a month? Geezus, what is wrong with criminals these days.

Coupla things:

1) if you have the ability to devise a good plan to commit a crime then you're quite capable of meeting your goals without committing the crime in the first place.

2) How many fendishly orchestrated crimes go down successfully that we never hear about?

The history channel sometimes shows the 10 greatest crimes of all times where the criminals got away. Although I guess in modern times, it's hard to beat the police, FBI, videocameras everywhere you go, fingerprinting, DNA testing, satelites, and the internet.

Nowadays there is no "perfect" crime. Especially now that we have DNA testing, there's a definite chance that you'll get nailed.

Don't bleed! Have a bunch of get away cars. Get to Point A. Ditch the car (leave no traces such as prints) and get another car. Get to point C ditch the car and get your next one. Etc. If you don't bleed, and no hair falls of you have a good chance of DNA not being use against you. Also Saliva.

Also be sure to keep your genetic material away from any interns that may be operating at or near the scene of the crime.
