Going to be getting a house with some friends soon, considering paying extra and getting a higher speed/commercial line. Something above basic cable/dsl. Any good companies to look at? Im in Louisville Ky
Example of local zip: 40223

thanks

It's not worth it, unless you guys have a lot of extra money to blow.

If you've got the cash, go with a 1.1Mbps sDSL line with a static ip. Typically, this service will run about $200/month, and is far more cost effective than a T1.

Damn, that would be mighty nice. :)

You're really paying for the upload, though. You could get a 1.5/256k aDSL acct for half that... Really just depends on your area, too.

You can't beat 1.5m/256k cable for 55$/mo, IMO. :)

Get a cable connection with 1.5 Mbps down. Save the extra money and use it to buy your router/switch. Do any of you have laptops? You should get a wireless access point as well.

You may wanna check out to see what kind of wireless providers are available in your area ... you way be lucky and have a 2mbit or 4mbit wireless ISP that charges between 100 and 200 a month ... Of course if you dont need the upstream ... than Cable modem, or home DSL is your best bet ((though i have heard some really good things about comcast pro (if its available by you)))

you guys are crazy! 1.5/256 is slow... i have 1.2/160, but that only costs $29 canadian per month.. so that's about $19usd/month. cable is 3-4mbps here. you can get 3.5mbps dsl but it's about $49cdn so about $30usd/month

$55usd for 1.5dsl is not "good" :p
