I'm currently in my junior year of college, and will be attending graduate school immediately after graduation. Over the past couple of months, it has been getting more and more difficult to keep track of everything in my classes. Most of my professors are putting about 60% of our class readings online, along with most of the Powerpoint presentations. Because of this, I am constantly having to look at electronic material. Here's where my problem comes in....I can't study at home. Like many college students, I never get anything done at home, mainly because my desktops are there. If I can get to someplace else (the basement when I was in the dorms), I am able to study and work on homework. I'm thinking that it would be in my best interest to get a tablet pc in order to help with this. To pay for it, I will, unfortunately, have to take out a student loan.
Now, I know I will never use a laptop to type in class for two reasons. First, it is noisy, regardless of how quiet you try to be. Also, the size of the desks (especially in the lecture pits) makes it dangerous to try to balance a laptop. My thought is that I will be able to prop a tablet pc on my leg, similar to how I currently take notes.
Onward to what I am looking at.
I'm hoping to get the HP/Compaq TC1100 direct from HP. I've PM'd the one user here who I know has one, but hopefully someone else will come forward. I've researched it as best as I can at the sites available, but will take any additional comments I can get.
