Commentator Bias in Yankees / Tribe Game

Has anybody else noticed this?

"Here come the Yankees" - after A-Rod hit a leadoff single. The Yankee bias is crazy.

"This is the Yankee approach that was on display in game 1" - after Posada takes the first on the AB immediately after A-Rod.

"they're not booing, they're Hughes-ing... or at least they will be in a minute" - On an 0 - 2 pitch to Garko.

I'm not a Tribe fan, but jesus, listening to this game I'd think I was listening to the YES network.

Commentators are people too. They are going to have preferences. It's not like bias in this regard is gonna decide who wins the game. I'm just stating the obvious. Now if they weare a part of a team, and gambled...

I just think that if a network is going to provide the national / international feed for the playoffs, they should try to find guys who aren't clearly rooting for one team. It really makes the game difficult to watch.

it can't be any worse than the ny slant fox put on things during the 2004 alcs. i can understad it though, ny is sexier to sell the rest of the country, and there's more money to squeeze out of ny than boston. they had that dumb broad and kevin "shit between the ears" kennedy, although they forgot to mention kennedy managed the sox a couple years earlier. his crowning achievement was letting canseco detonate his shoulder on the pitcher's mound.

Thats because the Yankees are an infinitely bigger draw should they advance.

The thing is that their comments aren't even smart and biased, they're just stupid. The "here comes the Yankees" when A-Rod singles to lead off an inning.

I'm a Yankee fan and I don't listen on the commentary, radio or tv. (mute the tv) I know the OP is referring to the national broadcast but the the local coverage is so sycophantic that it's completely unlistenable.

That same play by play guy (Chip Caray) was going crazy for the Indians in game one of the series. He even yelled out "Cleveland Rocks!!!!" after a big hit. LOL

I felt the same way about the announcers, and I'm a yankee fan. They were saying crazy things. Arod gets a single, "here come the Yankees!". Excuse me?

But I think they wanted the Yankees to win because TBS only has the first round of the playoffs. 4 sweeps would be their worst nightmare.

This must past week must have been very depressing for them.

You didn't know that because TBS isn't carrying only the first series, despite what the know-it-all ThePresence says.

TBS is stuck carrying the NLCS.....and I say stuck carrying it now because the matchup is probably the worst possible scenario that could have happened for TBS in relation to ratings. Colorado vs. Arizona? Who really is going to care about watching that matchup outside of the two immediate areas involved? There is no national appeal with either team.....ratings are going to suck for TBS. Now, if it'd been their "dream" matchup.....Philly vs. Chicago....ratings would probably have been almost as high as a Yankee vs. RedSox matchup, the other "dream" scenario.

But, instead, TBS is going to carry an NLCS that very few will actually care to watch, except those diehard baseball watchers or those in the Arizona and Colorado areas.

At least Fox can count on a bit more of an audience....they do have the RedSox in the ALCS, even if it's only Cleveland playing them.

I am hardly a know-it-all and I'm certainly not above making a mistake or being wrong. Jeez.
I heard them say that FOX will be carrying the championship series, which is why I said that. It's possible they were referring only to the ALCS.

Matt Holliday scares the crap out of me and I'm an Indians fan. I will be watching some of the NLCS.
