Comment System Overhaul

After reading the comments for this article, I'm starting to think we need to overhaul the comments system somehow. There is entirely too much crap going on with anon posting; flames, cursing(to quote "fvck you pussyhole!!!"), people drawing lewd ACSII images, etc. I know this will stiffle commenting, but we either need to go to registered commenting only, or implement some sort of super-moderation system(such as what Slashdot uses); anon postings are getting out of hand.

or something like firing squad has isn't bad either.
people are categorized if they are part of the community and if the post is any good. so if mister anonymous comes by to crap his stuff he gets categorasation 0. normaly only comments in categories >1 are shown. but the viewer himself can decide to which cat-level he wants the comments to be shown.

I dunno about "overhaul" hehe, but it is now required that you be a forum member to post comments. 🙂.
Thank you, Zuni, this is appreciated. Now at least maybe this will stop some of the spamming and other crap, if the Moderators ban people who post things in the comments on AnandTech that would get them banned if posted on the Forums.
