comment on peltier kit for duron...please

can somebody gimme some comments or webpages?? i got a duron 700 and thinking of getting a 55w peltier kit...i got a taisol cek742 as well...thanks

hmmm... remember that a peltier will probably double the amount of heat from the cpu in your case...

Ceck that your cpu dissipate less than the peltie, or get a bigger peltier.
Also, you need a very good airflow to dissipate CDP+Peltier heat, and wach out to prevent condensationon the processor, and on the contacts, and olso inside the socketA.
Better use something like vaseline (no electical transfer, hydrorepellent) on the pins before insert the cpu into the socket.

at 55w...it won't do anything really... A duron will overpower it especially if you overclock it...

it's [peltiers] are a slippery slope... they can cause all kinds of probelms like condensation, and excess heat. a larger peltier is going to require a good PS that can output some real good amperage at 12v. Some of the bigger ones require a REALLY big PS to get them to work...

At a minimum I would reccomend a 300w PS with 12v@12amps for a medium sized peltier unit. Otherwise it might not get the amperage it [the peltier] needs...

Can somebody recommend a good power supply for my soon to be overclocked Duron600 system with a 72W peltier? I only have 1 hard drive and a DVD player but plan to add another HDD and a CD-RW soon. I've heard good stuff about Enlite. (And bad stuff about Deer) Are there 300Wers that will have adequate amperage (I'm guessing no) otherwise whats the minimum wattage I should aim for?

This could probably hold its own as a thread but this works....

I do know of one excellent sight that sells good air cooled peltier parts.

This sight has so very good peltier coolers, except I would research a lot about the thermal output of your processor. (Power used by the processor is converted in thermal energy.) For example, if you were to buy a 78w peltier kit, first you need to see how much power your processor consumes. The peltier cooler can only cool your processor depending upon the capacity of the unit and the amount of power consumed by your processor.
**This is also important. You need to find out how much power the processor will use when it is overclocked.**

I have a Duron 600 with a Swiftech MC371-3 peltier cooler. I have it set to 900@1.675v. It runs on average 26 deg C. I had to remove the default fan because the unit is so tall. I can reach a GIG, but the temperatures soar to 40 deg C.
