Command-line image printing in Linux

Is this possible? I would like to be able to print out images (probably jpegs) from the command line, no gui involved. All the lpr switches don't seem to allow for this....

You would probably be able to use ghostscript to convert them to ps first, then print them.

I think that LPRng and CUPS will handle JPEGs directly...

Correct me if I am wrong.
