command & conquer the first decade

i was reading over on guru3d.com that in febuary 2006 ea going to release command and conquer the first decade. Who all going to get this? I know I will, being able to play all the old command and conquer games will be awesome

I am a HUGE C&C fan I still own them all:

-C&C win95 edition
-C&C Red Alert w/expansion
-C&C Tiberian Sun
-C&C Renegade (stupid FPS)
-C&C Red Alert 2 w/expansion
-C&C Generals w/expansion

And I will DEFINATELY be getting the new one when it comes out!

i like how they are packaging all of the command & conquers together and I hope they updated the programming some for red alert and the orignal c&c will work with xp, and have all of them have an updated multiplayer mode.

Yup, that's what I'm hoping for. I would buy it if all of these games will be compatiable with XP.

I remember when I got the first C&C and began to install it. The installation (which took place in DOS of course) had a graphical installation that I thought was SO COOL! It didnt just show a typical DOS install with "copying files to C:\blah\blah......".

Wow, you mean EA is releasing yet another non-original title? I highly doubt they'll rework any of the code to allow better multiplayer or even compatibility in XP.

How cool would that be, playing RA or the orgiinal CC on Westwoods network. I remember playing my friends on RA with my 14.4k modem

I wonder if RA alcheamist works still?????

You could modify everything very easily for that game. It was great. I would make like carriers have super range and super power. etc. I loved also putting in new units

Surely to God they'd do that, at least. EA will have sunken to a new low, if this is just a repackaged version of games that still need "fixes" to run on current OS'es (if it even runs at all).

I dont think I'll be buying this. All Im missing is C&C Covert Ops + Firestorm and I dont fancy shelling out £35 for games I have.

Haha yeah. I remember that. I remember giving Tanya parabombs. When she shot targets bombs would drop out of nowhere.

i have to agree with you.
the other games were decent, but just didn't have the fun factor that those 2 did.

God the original c&c and red alert were so sick back in the day. Then came TA, which owned. Starcraft still owns them all though

I actually threw away my old C&C discs the other day since I never did get RA or any of its 2 or 3 expansions that I owned to work on XP.

This is all they would need to do and I'd buy it! I don't remember how Tib Sun internet play was, but I believe that and RA2 and later are setup for Westwood Online if thats still around. Man those are great games. Don't care much about Generals, but I have such a hard time picking favorite outta C&C, Tib Sun, RA1, RA2 (the expansions of all weren't that much different), though I'd probably place Tib Sun last outta the four.


Used to have a 486 ~33mhx SX crap that ran the original C&C demo at like 5 fps. I thought it could run it.. maybe something was wrong or I didn't have enough ram, but I don't really remember that long ago.

After Dune II, C&C 1 became my one (and only) RTS love. Anything after that I tuned out. I still have the 2 CD's (lost the rest of the packaging long ago, pity) but too bad the game won't play nice with XP.
