Command and Conquer Generals/Zero Hour Slowness

Hello all,

I have a 925x motherboard with a intel 3.4Mhz, 1gig ram and a evga 6600gt card. I just installed command and conquer generals with zero hour. When I'm playing solo against the computer the game really slows down to a crawl. I'm kind of shocked because this happened to my 3 year old system but this is new and really fast.

I have no problems playing other games like DOOM3, WOW and Farcry. Has anyone seen this problem? :Q

Haha, I actually had the urge to play that today, ran perfectly fine on my comp with similar specs to yours. Not sure why that's happening.

How big of a battle are you getting into, vs. how many AI players? The AI in Generals is a massive CPU hog, I have the same problem with a 3500+ Athlon64 and 1GB RAM, if the AI has a whole ton of units it's moving around, or if there's multiple AI players.
