We have three OM stores and none of them have or have ever heard of 200 packs of Prime Peripheral CD-R's. Do you have a SKU for these -- or is the special for perhaps two spindles of 100 or something like that? I would really like to get in on this deal -- but need more informations. Thanks.

These are good disc's seems like some sort of top coating keeps
them them from flakeing like the PNY's I had before.

Sku is 2001-5591. The store near me just made a pallet display of about 150 boxes of them.

The store near me just got them in yesterday and are displayed today. They're in a green box about
6x7x11". Four spindles inside--blank tops.
The upc is 6-42184-75200-1 in case someone previously bought some Prime Peripherals and are wondering if they are the same or not.

On the Prime Peripherals rebate form they say to go to forrebates.com if your rebate hasn't been received after 10 or 12 weeks. Well, just for the Hell of it, I went there. It is the Prime Peripherals tech support page. I followed every branch of the tree on the site and nowhere is there anything having to do with rebates. The URL is showing forrebates.com all of this time. I thought this was interesting.

If you are considering these CD-Rs, you might want to look at Big Ed's comments at Overclockers.com; and no, I am not Big Ed.

Those of you who have previously burned these--have they been ok, including over time?

I have used some prime preph's CDR's to back up my valuable
software for some time, the ironic truth is the backup's are
damaged before they are needed - after roughly 4 months of
burning, some data just disappeared. the path is there, the
file/dir desc info still looks alright, but the data is physically
inaccessible. I still have about one third of the spindle sitting around,
if anyone cares to experience what i went through, go for it!!!

I don't see how they would expect to advertise these things like they are and get away with it if they intend on ripping us off as a couple of you are inferring. Even if these are junk...who cares? They're free!!! I'll use them to make some compilations of some crap and toss them if they go bad...or I'll just back up my appz every 3 months or so...I do anyway. They have like 200 boxes of these at the OM I visited today. I'm goin' for it...I'll just make copies of everything in case they really do have the bad intentions that you guys say they might.

It they're that bad, return them ot OM. When they realize they're junk, they'll probably replace with a better product.

I got it from my local store. There are two upc on the box. My question is can I send one for the rebate or I have to send them both.

Just picked some up at my local OM:

ATIP: 97m 26s 66f
Disc Manufacturer: CMC Magnetics Corp.
Assumed Dye type: Phthalocyanine (Type 6)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

These are the type with the Prime Peripherals label on the top, not the black ones...but they are CMC. Sure seems like there are many different manufacturers throughout the country...
