I work on a university campus and so i see a lot of the get out the vote stuff this week. But today was exceptional as this afternoon there is an Obama rally and they seem to have the same undertone as this comic. Young republicans are having to be careful with saying things in public on campus or else they are shunned or yelled at. Tonight Hoobastank is playing outside the student union so there are all these tables set up with people hounding you to vote - but seemly only if your democrat. The republicans have ONE table and its off in another part of campus (next to the marines recruiting tent actually) and whenever i walk by they always seem to be in a heated discussion over current events. Its all gotten outta hand because a college campus should give equal time to both parties but thus far there have been NO mccain rallies (but 3-4 paul ones :p) and like 3-4 Obama rallies.

oh and don't forget to register to vote if you haven't already!

and how exactly is the college to blame for that and not the student body? is the college preventing mccain rallies?

I think McCain supporters are afraid they'll spend much more time fighting off overzealous collegiate hecklers than actually giving people voter registration information.

Very true, we cannot limit one type of rally just because no one wants to hold an opposing rally.

I agree - I have no clue what the college is actively doing to support or not support the students in this regard. I just was commenting that it hopefully is not supporting one candidate over the other.
