Today's Get Fuzzy

Instead of my daily dose of Get Fuzzy hilarity, today's Greensboro News and Record displayed the following line instead of the above comic today.

"Today's Get Fuzzy Has Been Pulled Due to Profane Language."

WTF! I don't see it. Is saying SOL really that bad?

haha, that's insane

they probably figured little kids wouldn't know what SOL means so they'd ask their parents, and the parents would get pissed that they had to explain it and they learned it from a comic strip

one time i had a teacher tell me i was SOL and i said "oh really, just what does that mean" and she said "student out of luck"

Maybe it was a SNAFU

I guess they didn't want kids asking their parents what SOL was...

There was a hispanic gang rape scene, they thought it was inappropriate for republican neighborhoods.

They published it here, it's pretty funnay.

God?

I don't know. I don't get the comic anyway.

You should read it online. It's a good comic.

I meant that I don't understand the comic.

The cat has been wanting to eat a monkey for quite a while now. He has some sick fascination with them...now he's finally getting his chance.

Yay for political correctness. It's not like they specifically said what SOL means. Stupid....

A lot of the humor in it depends on you knowing the characters and their foibles -- there have been a whole series of strips on how the cat (Bucky) is obsessed with dining on monkey-meat, including one where Bucky thought Planet of the Apes was a theme restaurant.

The one where the dog gave Bucky a pint of Chunky Monkey for his birthday was a classic :)
