My daughter is interested in comic books. She is 7. She just got through a Sabrina the teenage witch comic book. She read it and loved it.

She took a crack at a transformers comic book (gift we are giving to a relative), not specifically for her) and she just can't follow it. Mostly because there are a lot of strange names and at her level she can't differentiate names from words she doesn't know.

Are there any sites that rate comic books by reading ability?

For now, I hope to get her one Sabrina comic book a week but would like to mix it up some.

Thanks!

I can't think of any offhand, but there are certainly more kid friendly comic books. Try googling "comic books for kids" or something to that effect and you might get some decent hits.

Comic book is not really educational material, I will be surprised if they come with reading levels, in fact even regular story books, very few come with reading levels. You are talking about A through H right?

No, they don't come with reading levels but they do have target markets.

I'll try doing a google search with better key words.

power puff girls maybe? tiny titans? maybe adventure time comics? does she like MLP? if so, she might like the comic for that. superman family adventures might be good for her as well.

in addition, while not technically a comic, my youngest minion is 8 and he LOVES my calvin and hobbes collections.

Any Archie comic should be good. I used to love Archie comics as a kid. Still have the ones I bought in the late 60s, early 70s.
