Just the like subject says: who are the most powerful comic book superheros?

Haven't read comic books since the 1970s.

Only American comic books, please (no Japanese comics).

You know, the Fantastic Four, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Silver Surfer, Xmen, et cetera.

Thanks,
PCM

Galacticus (yeah, I think that was his name ... )

Most powerful supervillain according to my Marvel trading cards, circa 1993.
Oh, the memories ... :)

Edit: Damn you glen! :p:D

<< Spawn >>

He's bad but Unfortunately his powers are finite and when they're gone he goes straight to hell unless he works it out with the big guy ;) Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock are tuffLobo and Superman are tuffSolar is tuffBTW, if you read Future Imperfect where the Hulk is exposed to a second nuclear blast which turns him into a d*ck, he kills every hero/villian in the Marvel universe who takes him on and becomes the supreme ruler.

Don't know if he really counts as a superhero, but the Beyonder is more powerful than Galactus.

Yo,
Dudes, I said superheros. No villians.

Plus, if you can write out a short blurb about what would make that hero so great, since I don't recall each hero's powers.

Thanks,

Definetly the Saint of Killers, no superhero could win that guy.

oh no villans... then its.... ermm.... Saint of killers.. since he isnt realy bad

edt.

info,
I havent read much about him, just some stuff my friends have. From what I know he was killed so he is sortof a ghost or something, he went to hell, killed the devil and took angel of death's job. And now he roams the earth and stuff. In one comic an army went up against him and they didnt scratch him.

If you want the "good" side of that comic then its the Preacher. He only has one power, voice of god or something. What that does is that he tells someone to fsck off that person does it no matter what untill he dies or is told to stop. It even works on god, and the Preachers goal in life is to hunt down god and ... something something.. I realy must borrow this comic ;)

Now do you want mainstream? (dc/marvel) or do you want to include other comic universes? (Chaos!, Anarchy, Wildstorm..etc...etc)

Well, Ill go based on mainstream:

Most Powerful All Around:
Superman- Strength, heat vision, cold breath, superspeed, plus he never has to eat or poo, pretty strong there.

Green Lantern- quickly catching up to Supes, if not already suprassing him, in power. He no longer needs the ring, he no longer needs to recharge. He can create entire worlds (living breathing actual worlds) with millions of completely individual beings populating it, and extend little effort.

Captain Marvel- About tied with supes, really. I might even put him at a slight advantage based on the nature of his powers (magic).

Martian Manhunter- Yeah, this guy is badass. Cept for that fire weakness thing...

in Marvel:
Quasar- Like green lantern before he(gl) got his massive powerup

Hulk- He may not have flight, or x-ray vision, or super speed, but NOBODY is stronger than the Hulk. His strength has the potential to be completely infinite. He has grabbed and broken energy, lifted an entire mountain, and kept an antimatter bomb from going off all with pure strength. The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets.

Thor- Id put him on par with Superman, specially now that he has the Odinforce.
