Comfortable headphones?

I'm looking for some new headphones. The main feature I want is comfort. I've never found a pair of earbuds or over-the-ear headphones that I could wear for hours and hours without my ears hurting. I had a pair of Philips Magnavox AY3682 which were nothing special, but they fit like a glove.
My budget is $50 MAX and I would prefer to keep it down to about $25.
Any suggestions?

I've found that the most comfortable headphones are the ones where your whole ear fits inside the little headphone cushion.

A Phillips model I have (cheapo ones @ Shopko) have the ear cushion resting ON THE EAR and after a couple hours my ear hurts like heck.

Edit:

you might want ones that fit over your whole ear
Yeah, what he said

The ones that fit over the ear tend to be big, which makes them annoying when travelling. I fly a few times a year and it's convenient to just have my headphones around my neck when I'm not listening to them, but with the over the ear phones, I feel like I'm wearing a neck brace.

The best ones I've had are my Koss TD/80s...sound good, comfortable and tough. Previously, I used 2 pairs of identical Sonys (both failed where the wires meet the drivers). I also had Grado SR60s. They sounded great, but were uncomfortable, and the plastic C looking peice that surrounded the earpiece and connected it to the band snapped in half. I'm not blaming Grado for it though, as I'm quite hard on them.

Since you're limited to a $50 budget, head to Amazon and look for the Sennheiser 212 Pros. $42.## with free shipping.

Actually I heard a lot of people say that the Grado's aren't very comfortable.. you can buy newer foam pads for them though that are suppose to make them a lot more comfy
