Come on in if you have 6800 IQ issues.

I've been having nothing but problems with my BFG 6800 GT OC since it was bought. Before some creep pipes in about removing drivers, using latest drivers, fresh install etc you can STFU now, these basics are a given with me. Yes I've tried Official july drivers and about 9 others and sill having these issues. OC'ed or not. First I'd like to see if someone with a 6800 series card can show me a screen w/o these issues since nothing I've tried worked.

AA drop off in center of tiles pic and checkered tiles on my GT.

Hard's review shows the same w/ 6800 how about you?

still have farcry pier pylon ghosting effect

So I go a looking for fixes only to find a butt load of IQ problems (shown below) with 6800's and just recently it's PVP failure which my 5950 does'nt have. In this thread

IQ 1 with lots of links in there to disturbing issues

IQ 2

IQ 3

Since many review sites have not been totaly honest when it comes to IQ or simply choose to ignore it for all the free hardware they get or just lazy since it takes real work to gauge it instead of just punching and benchmark and walking away to have a soda for the results. I'm asking all 6800 card users, if you are noticing some of the problems that I have and are discribed in the links and pics?

I havent noticed any, and I dont play Farcry so...

I see pictures of Vice City which is what I play 90% of the time.

I run 4aa 8as 16x12 HQ and do not have the same isues he's having. Drivers are the 61.77's

For the Far Cry IQ tile issues, you need to apply the recalled 1.2 patch. For some reason, the 1.1 patch thinks the 6800 series are FX cards, so it automatically lowers the image quality (this was done for FX cards to get them running Far Cry faster). As for the other issues, I'm not sure, but you could try using the latest 66.81 beta drivers that were released. You can find these at NVnews.com's Forceware forum.

That's the drivers I'm currently using..same deal.

I am going off to look for recalled 1.2 patch.🙂

Getting old screwing around with a $400 card to get it to work.

CKTurbo128, I tried running the 1.2 FC patch and I get a critical error "can't find forklift" blah blah blah when loading "cooler" map. No wonder it was recalled. Now I got to re-inall the whole game again? Arr.

No probs whatsoever with 1.2 except sound issues. 1.1 caused me probs too though. Maybe uninstall and reinstall the game could help?

I have read on other forums that if you use riva tuner and set the LOD to about 4.0, it rids the aa problem. I am about to go try it out myself

I agree with the OP. NV definitely seems to have issues with both AA and bad texture aliasing on the 6800?s. I?ve seen a couple of people on the forums that have already dropped their 6800?s and bought X800?s because of it.

There are threads at nvnews and beyond3d and numerous other forums on the issue.

There has been no mention of this in the hardware reviews -- well, up to now.
oczone ? noticed the problem in UT3, Painkiller, and the water in COD looked terrible.

NV needs to get this issue cleared up. Perhaps even to the point where 6800?s should not be recommended until it is.

Funny. I haven't had any of these problems.

he might be but if the 3dmark05 comparison pictures are legit then I am disappointed 🙁 oh well its not like I could have got anything better from ATi for 250 bucks - they hardly have any agp cards at all right now!

Blastman is a known Ati troll.

That?s funny coming from the biggest NV fanboy at Anadtech. Is Zebo a troll too because he brought the issue up -- whoops he owns a NV card, which you must have to criticize NV -- give me a break. It?s a legitimate issue whether you like it or not. We?ve provided an abundance of links and evidence about it if you actually bothered to check -- so the only one that has started trolling here so far is you.

Ati has similar issues.

That is exactly one of the issues we?re talking about except that is the only shot I?ve seen suggesting it?s on ATI cards too. There has been no other shots corroborating that shot. There is an abundance of shots showing the lack of AA on much of the screen on many games on the 6800?s and bad texture aliasing on many games. In particular, this link by the OP. Maybe you thinks it?s ok to have lousy IQ on a $400 card, but many people who have bought 6800?s would like it resolved and sweeping it under the carpet isn?t going to help.
