Comcrap charges us $20 a month for the HD DVR box, and worst of all we have 3 of them.

So apparently a regular SD converter box is $6 a month, and HD box is $14 a month, and a DVR box is $20 a month.

Since we have 3 DVR and 1 HD box and 1 SD box we pay $80 in just rentals for 5 converter boxes. That is highway robbery. Wish we could get rid of comcrap but we can't.

I only pay $6/month for a HD box.

You still live at home? Get rid of the DVR boxes. Sounds like you're all stupid.

If your house needs 5 boxes then its your own problem.

I have 3 HDTV's and only one HD-DVR and no other boxes. Im perfectly happy using their internal QAM tuners to get the main HD stations and when I want to watch something not on the main channels I can watch it on the big screen or record it. I never have a problem missing anything I want to watch (and I watch alot of TV), because there is pretty much never 3 things I want to record all at once on cable channels. 2 Channels record + 1 QAM tuner for a non-encrypted HD channel is more than enough.

We could never give up our 3 DVR.

1 is in the living room, 1 is in my parents bed room, and 1 is in my bed room. Each is connected to an HDTV.

The regualr HD box in the excersise room, which we also thinking about converting to a DVR.

Usually you can have one DVR that streams to the other cable boxes.

That's your own fault then - that's friggin ridiculous. Guess how many digital boxes we have on our house? 1, and we're about to get rid of the thing. After that we'll be all analog.

How the heck did you survive just a few years ago where there was no such thing as a DVR? And furthermore..why does everyone need one not only on their TV but the living room tv?

Watch this be the guy who made another thread about how he cut out all his luxury expenses but is still in debt up to his eyeballs. No one this dense could be rich unless they are 3rd generation wealth.

For example, if he were rich why is he stuck living there to begin with?

How old are you, 16?

If you have a DVR. and your parents have one, why would you need one in the living room???

And why on God's green earth would your "exercise room" need a DVR?

Because it is just $6 more, and often times I find my self wanting DVR features when I am working out in that room.

Here is an idea dont waste so much money or time on TV, better to get a good internet connection that way you can just download what you want to watch.

Satellite not an option?

Don't these answers make you wonder why you even bother to post here? I don't kow if it's the economy, the election or what, but it seems that there is no end to the derogatory, useless posts here.

Ya know... I'm honestly thinking of dropping my Comcast subscription completely and just plugging my laptop into my HDTV to watch "TV". Between my Netflix subscription and Hulu, there is plenty of content to watch!

Ummm...Verizon charges the same thing. Oh, you have the free multi room dvr for one year....but it still cost $27 a month after the year...and it is only a free MULTI ROOM DVR. The single DVR ($22 a month) does not count in that promotion.

I got rid of the DVR and I use a standard box in the main room ($6 a month) and a digital adapter in the bedroom ($4 a month).

Where are you getting these prices? The DVR is only $14.99/month and the Multi-Room DVR is only $19.99/month.

In the natick, Ma area. Those are the prices they had at the Kiosk when I sgned up. There are like 5 different options for a box. I just picked the cheapest one that can give me on demand and the cheapest one in the living room.

BW, for all you verizon to be folk...Do NOT go to the Kiosk to join FIOS. You will get a much better deal doing it online (free box....free 100 giftcard, free HBO for 30days). i did not qualify for any of the promotion crap because I did it as a kiosk.
