I'm thinking about getting cable TV at my new house and Comcast is the only provider available.

I don't think I can get satellite due to all of the trees.

Anyway, I'm looking at Comcast's site and I don't see any prices. Am I blind or what?

the only prices I can see are here:
http://www.comcast.com/comcast-deals.html

and those are for bundles. I would just want the lowest tier cable service.

Right from a click in your link. ;)

But, OP, I would call them, maybe even more than once, and pretend to be a satellite customer thinking of changing, or something, just to see if they have different specials for other situations, which I bet they do.

Honestly, this can be all over the map. I'd search for, find, and try more than one listed Comcast number, too . . . that is, if playing this game appeals to you.

Are you a ferengi?

From your link, mouse over "Products" at the top left, and click on "Infinity TV." :p

yeah, where it shows the price in your pic, it tells me to log in to change or add service. I click login and it wants my account number or SSN#.

Did you have Comcast before? Clear your cache and cookies?

If you can't fix this, call and tell them your tale of woe. Be sure to stock up on patience when you do, and be prepared to ask for a supervisor when the tier one person can't help you.

They're probably detecting your region by the IP address somehow and they don't have specific prices for your area.

Not that likely, as they ask for this info from me after showing me the prices, and the asking for login/SSN indicates they think poor ponti is already a CumCrass customer.

I did the chat online thing. $29.99/month for the 1st 12 months, then 49.99/month afterwards.

I told the dude that if it was always 29.99, that I would be inclined to buy it, but at the higher price, i would check my other options. he just said he understood and asked if I had any other questions.

looks like DISH is about $5 cheaper. Still more than I want to pay for tv service though.

Make sure you compare the channel lineup, and not just the number of channels. I heard that a lot of dish packages are inflated with shopping channels and such. My niece and nephew had a normal package that didn't even include National Geographic Channel.

What are you doing for internet? Cable TV is worth nothing to me, but you can get a basic level virtually free if you have Comcast internet. It would have been a dollar or 2 cheaper, or more expensive(I can't remember) per month to have TV also, but I didn't feel like screwing with it.

Centurylink DSL. I've had them for years and the service has been pretty good.

What do you want that OTA, and internet don't provide? Not many have dropped TV completely, but a lot of people have switched to OTA. There just isn't much on. If there's a show you really want, you can likely buy it on disc or something, and it'll be cheaper than getting full service.

Keep in mind that the cable industry is based on a county franchising agreement, and not all counties have the same available channels, features, and promotions that another county for the same carrier might have.

And while I have Comcast for broadband, I do not have them for TV. Unlike the adjacent county to mine, the Comcast TV service in my county is about +5 years back in time (except pricing).

But, clicking the link you provided gives me all available packages and pricing, but I'm better their website knows an IP address when it owns it.

I usually just watch shows the next day on my PC so I don't really watch much TV in the actual TV, but thats because I still lived with my parents and getting to watch what I want to watch wasn't very often.

Now that I have my own place, I'll have free reign of the entire house and TV, so that is why I thought about getting the cable, but I really don't want to spend that much money per month for TV.

I have nothing but good things to say about satellite TV. We have tons of trees in the yard and no issue at all.

Fuck Comcast.
