Comcast To Raise Internet Service Fee

Many existing Comcast cable subscribers will pay an additional 21% for their internet access, to bring the fee up from 32.95 to the "industry standard" 39.95 (which has been the new Comcast subscriber rate for some time). Washtech.
Do you think residential broadband should settle at 39.95 nationwide, or are cheaper products necessary?

I would like to see it hover around $20-$30 range.
Of course modem rental throws a monkey wrench in.

any more than $30 - modem rental and I get squeemish.

I think Bill Gates testified before Congress not too long ago that if Broadband rates don't come down, the US will fall behind. Looks like his speech didn't do much good.
