*Sigh*. They've been out 12 times to fix it. Still drops me from online games and general internetting like 2-3 times a night. I'm ****** giving up and getting DSL. Do not get Comcast. They suck and are incompetent.

over the past 4 years, only had 5 or 6 outages....only one of them lasted more than 1 hour. [/knocks on wood].

no complaints here...changed names to Time Warner a few months ago..everything is good so far...

except for sh!tty grouping of channels on cable....The Comcast line up made more sense as the HD channels were all grouped together (from 202 - 221 or something).

on Time Warner, they are spread out all over the place...

I've never had any problems like that, sure it isn't the modem? Router? Your computer? I've seen software disrupt routers and modems before. When I first tried Realplayer, it would consistently disconnect my internet when I ran it.

Nope, all 5 computers have similar problems. And if it was the router or modem, don't you think they would have picked up on that by the 12th time out here?

Edit: Also, I can ping and do tracerts and see that the signal is fubared.

Absolutely not. There are so many places the connection can go wrong, the tech may never know. I actually had the internet go down once, but the network was perfectly fine. I managed to hit the jackpot by talking to a tech who actually *gasp* knew something about how things work... He found the problem on their end(they can admit to that?!?!) and fixed it over the phone with some help from me.

But another time I called them, they tried 7 different ways to renew my IP address even though I already told them it was probably the modem...

I have had Comcast, Charter, and BellSouth; and of the three BellSouth DSL was easily the best having the most stability by far and more upload speed for the same price.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Same here. It drops out for 30 mins or so every couple of nights. They've been out a couple times and haven't found any problems. I'm thinking about trying out DSL and doing a direct comparison for a month or so. If I can get more reliability and even remotely similar speed, I'll drop cable internet. It's NOT Comcastic here!

I wish I could get comcast. The house across the street has comcast, my nextdoor neighbor has comcast...and yet for some reason I can't get it.
