Comcast offers "Digital phone" or whatever its called, along with cable, internet, etc. If I chose to switch to this over a normal phone company would I be able to use the same phones? yeah Im a moron.

PS Has anyone gone with comcast for their phone needs, and are you happy?

what does comcast charge?? is this comcast business or comcast home?

they are probably using a VOIP technology which means you can use standard phones.

if i were you i would seriously consider www.packet8.com or www.vonage.com.

if you decide to go with vonage email me, i'll send you referral which should save you money.

regular phones work. It's just like anything else. I pay like 16 for a basic line and total with taxes is around 26. I still get caller ID and all that stuff.

Initially it was mediaone. Then ATTBI. Now Comcast.

I have digital phone and cable internet from Comcast. All you get for the phone is something the size of a VCR that plugs into your coax outlet. You have to power it. It's a digital decoder, basically. If you plug your phone right into it, you get FVCKING CRYSTAL CLEAR phone calls. But you can plug the box into a phone outlet, which gives you the ability to go anywhere else in the house, plug a phone into another jack, and get a dial tone with normal, semi-decent phone calls that you usually would from the local phone company.

It's kinda cool though. :) They're not dependant on one another at all and the phone can work for up to 6 hours on it's battery.
