Comcast Prices are ridiculous

Digital Cable + High Speed Internet + HBO Package = $135 bucks per month. Unfortunately there aren't many other options out there in my area right now. I'm not close enough for Verizon DSL, and I'm not sure if DirecTV is all that much better. Where's all the competition in Massachusetts?

I'm paying $70/mo. for digital cable + high speed internet. That includes tax and modem rental. 🙂

After you've been a customer for a while, call 'em up and be ready to swtitch to DSL if necessary. They'll offer you a lower price. My price is good for 12 months (9 months left, signed up in May).

2 words: promotional rates.

They want to keep you as a customer, so let them give you their pitch. Otherwise, you go to DSL + Dish. Even if it's -no- competition and you just don't like paying the money, let them know. They prefer getting any money out of you to no money.

Considering I'm on the verge of really switching to DSL (Comast HSI sucks at my new home), I'll see if this works.

You've really got to be ready to switch though. I was ready to hang up with Comcast and call SBC to schedule installation, if necessary.

yeah i'll have to give it a try, because I'm not going to fork over 130 bucks a month, no matter how good HBO/HSI is.

call them and tell them it goes over your monthly budget limit and you are going to switch to dsl and dish.

damn thats a lot of money. im glad high speed interent is not avilable in my area. im still on dialup and 15 bucks a month at 56K connection is all i need.

i pay $68/mo for comcast telephone/basic cable/hsi, locked in the rate before comcast even came into the area, had this pkg for like 7 yrs now

I called them and they lowered my total rate by $15/mo. It's not much but it's something. Once the FIOS is turned on, watch out!

i'm paying just over $90.00 / month for the same package. they tried to charge me the $135.00 / month after my 1 yr contract for that package at $79.00 / month ran out, but i threatened to go to verizon and they gave me a special.

ya, i'm special. 😉

My choice was to not get cable at all, and as a result I don't watch tv and miss out on all those really informative reality shows.
