Looks like Time Warner has taken over for Comcast in about 10 major cities and supposely, my rate will go from $64 to $44 a month!!

Anyone else get this notice when they go to pay their Comcast bill online?

Anyone have TWX for cable service? Do they suck ass like the stock?

I've used Time Warner in various cities... in some, it's VERY reliable, and the greatest thing since sliced bread. In other cities, it's not so great. YMMV.

I heard they are changing over in North Ridgeville, OH (Cleveland area) but haven't seen rates yet. It would be a cold day in hell if Cable/Broadband rates actually went DOWN though.

Had Time Warner here in the Tampa area before Newhouse went and put this area's network under the "bright house" banner, loved the service just as much before and after. Time Warner FTW.

I'm out in Elyria, OH and just got the letter yesterday. I knew this was coming for awhile since my last contract job was in the cable industry.

Most of the people and equipment that are at your current head-end will all remain the same, so you shouldn't really notice any difference in service or quality-- except for a few minor changes in the channel lineup due to contractual obligations.

You mean the city of Cleveland, or the Cleveland area meaning North Ridgeville and Elyria?

I love my Road Runner! My internet has gone down for 15 minutes in the 15 months I've had it. My office's internet has gone down more than that.

Yep.....nuthin like Ridge-Tucky ;)

I'm across from City Hall at the end of the street.

I need to take Comcast's POS cable modem back to them (has to be reset every day otherwise it slows to a crawl and loses signal). I tried taking it back two months ago and they had their 'tech' 'test' it in the 'back room' and said there was nothing wrong with it. The funny ass thing is that when I called 'customer support' (hahahahahaha) a week later about the same problem, they couldn't 'find' it on the network and kept asking me if it was plugged in :Q When they were finally able to 'find' it on the network....they said they couldn't see anything wrong with it :disgust:

The switch was negotiated when Time Warner and Comcast both bought Adelphia assets. They also traded customers that they were both competing in to allow one or the other to be the main player in those areas.

Here's how you fix the problem. Dump a diet coke through the vent of the cable modem. Then call comcast and tell them its broken.

I just got the letter yesterday. Apparently Time Warner bought out Adelphia in our area too. Now I just hope to god our connection gets faster...
