comcast is incredibly slow... wtf?!?!

i'm in nj... and for the past two days or so, my cable has been ridiculously slow. if i had dialup, i would dial up. anyone else use comcast in the NJ area? is it mad crazy slow too? a lot of my webpages have been timing out... fruckin' ridiculous. could i actually call up comcast and say i'm getting ripped off for $45/month? would they credit me back for the horrible network performance? :disgust:

My ex-gf lives up in the area... When she gets home in a little bit, i'll ask her to check hers out...

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a DOS virus like nimda maybe.

i don't think so... i haven't downloaded much lately. i would go one google to look up what are some signs of nimda, but it's butt slow. i was luck to even get this far and be able to reply. actually... this could still time out on me. i fruckin' hate comcast. can't wait to move one town over and have optimum online. comcast is a joke. :|

One of my friends from school lives just outside of Philadelphia and has Comcast broadband. He's always complaining about how slow it is. Lately, though, it seems to be all right. He can play Counter-Strike with a decent ping, but every once in a while, he has connection problems and can only stay connected to a server for 45 seconds before it cuts off on him.

What, you want your $1.50/day back?

Comcast probably won't give you a credit unless you bitch like crazy. Even then, you'll either not get listened to (because, hey, it's only two days) or you'll get your credit and get branded as a freaking stupid customer.

Do you realize how much you're spoiled? Good god. Two days isn't going to break your wallet. Besides, if you actually call them, they might tell you what's going on and fix it. Comcast doesn't automatically KNOW you're having a problem. It doesn't work like that.

Yes, Comcast is a joke. But, instead of complaining here, why don't you actually do something about it? Call them.

Comcast is a terrible ISP, and a terrible employer.

nik, this isn't a one time problem. it happens like every other week. thats why i ask here if anyone else is using comcast and has the same problem. so before i call up and b!tch like a b!tch... i just wanna try to eliminate possible hardware/software problems on my end. i wonder if i walk into "the wiz" and go to their comcast demo stand... is it gonna be sh!tty like this too?

the wiz is contracted with comcast? is this true? that wouldn't make too much since considering optonline (aka cablevision) owns the wiz.

i think the wiz in jersey city does. also, as far as i know, around here, ppl only have one choice for cable service. so i doubt it would matter if cablevision owns the wiz. comcast is the provider here, so as long as comcast gives the wiz $$$ to camp out at their store, they're both happy.

lol - of course it's not going to be the same. Comcast will pump their money into promo and adverts to get customers. Whether they actually care for or take care of the customer after that is highly debatable. And, if it's been happening week after week, I would have been calling long ago if I were you. 🙂 All the more reason to call. But, seriously, if you're even considering changing ISP's, then do it. I'm urging you... pleading you... do it. If not for your own satisfaction, then for my mental health, knowing that there is one less person in the world being woo'ed by this dark, evil, worthless monitary vacuum that we call Comcast.

i'm looking into it, but i think (not exactly sure yet) the dsl provider here is bell atlantic. i heard some not too good things about them 🙁

Okay, I'm starting to sweat over here. :Q For the love of god... dump Comcast for dialup service. Seriously...

nik (is getting nervous per talking about satan himself)

haha - move just to get a better internet connection? Hardass. 🙂

Viper GTS did the same thing (within his appartment complex) and I thought he was nuts. You, sir, are a looney. 😛

I called earlier. Central and Northern Jersey are "experiencing little to no connectivity".

Also, No ETA. Call up and ask for a progress number so you can prove you called up during the outage and get a refund if it is an extended period of time.

I could care less about a refund, it is just that I have several very important things to do and I can't do them. In other words I value my connection a lot more than that "$45 a month".

My comcast service was down for several hours today, and I called them about 12 minutes ago. I was told that all of Pennsylvania was out. Then 2 minutes after I call, the service comes back up again. Coincidence? heh

Anyone else in PA just get reactivated like me? Just checking on the lies.
