Finally! Adelphia has been a PITA and hopefully Comcast will make up for the horrible service I have been getting. Some questions about them though...
How reliable is Comcast, and what type of Cable box's do they use?

What they don't tell you is the ass raping you're about to receive once you get your new "Comcastic!" Bill!

Holy crap, you're excited????

That's like being excited that a pedophile is moving into your neighborhood and you have 2 young children that like candy.

Don't worry soon you'll be wishing everyday that Verizon would get on the stick and get FIOS where you live. I still pray everynight for FIOS so I can finally be unleashed from the bondage I am in and this arse raping I get from comcast every month.

Come on it can't be that bad. Can it?
Adelphia is already charging me $95 for just digital cable, with no internet. It can't get much worse than that.

Adelphia sucks, but won't Comcast use the same cables and everything? Adelphia in my area got switched to Time Warner and my DL speed didn't change at all.

What do people usually get for upload speeds from comcast?

Frankly, I only envision comcast making the situation worse. When was the last time you got exciting news that your cable situation was actually going to improve? Not that marketing said it was going to be better...that it actually got better? Oh thats right, its never happened.

Comcast's typical rates are 6mbps/384kbps down/up.

That said... you're excited about Comcast. You must have literally had the hamsters in the wheels before if you're happy about that. I've had Comcast since the 12th and haven't had 24 hours of consistent service from that point to today. It's fast when it works, but it doesn't work that often.

You need to be calling Verizon and finding out when they're coming.

*sigh*

Ok folks, lets repeat this little phrase instead of the popular one in this thread Cable service varies from area to area no matter WHO the cable provider is in that area.

I've had Comcast for quite some time and they have been very reliable for me. Yeah they are pricey but DSL in my area simply isn't as fast as cable modem and it'll be a long long time (if ever) before FIOS ever comes to my area.
