Comcast increasing download speed

Cool. I've been thinking about ditching my dialup and getting Comcast lately. I miss being able to download music (from IUMA) and pr0n..

We've had it in our area for a few months (first teast area they used). It's nice, and I can keep a consistant 380-400 KB/s going round the clock.

2003-10-02 16:06:08 EST: 1407 / 357
Your download speed : 1407017 bps, or 1407 kbps.
A 171.7 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 357557 bps, or 357 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

not bad for Comcast regular cable, i downgraded from comcast pro.

Yea mines still 1.5Mbit here. Sometimes it can push a little higher, i like the ping tho it's around 10ms on a good server.

cox started me out at 3Mbps...me likey, regularly get ~350kbps downloads
congratulations to all getting the upgrade

I'm stuck with CableOne.net 🙁, $40/month for 500/128 Kbps, can't get DSL because of old telephone line (about the same price/performance as CableOne anyway)

Anyone know the current test areas? Evidently not seattle... -.-;;

To begin with, Comcast will raise its broadband service speed in Atlanta; Detroit; Dallas, Ga.; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Independence, Mo.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Lake County, Fla.; Meridian, Miss.; Mobile, Ala.; Muncie, Ind.; Panama City, Fla.; Pittsburgh; Savannah, Ga.; and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

It also say by the end of the year, majority will get it rise!

they need to freakin stabalize my cable. When it's working correctly, I'm at 200-250kb constant... no one really "needs" more then that. Who cares about 400-500kb/sec if it rarely works correctly?

not meant to be a thread crap, I just hate cvntcast service

Does anyone know if Time Warner upgraded EVERYONE that has service with them? Or only certain states?
maybe u didn't read the article but I understand laziness 🙂 They're testing it out in a couple markets first, then they'll go from there
