I'm on Comcast here in California, and my ping's pretty bad too. The problem, I believe, is that there are several cable splitters in the house, at least one of which is up in the attic where I cannot get at it very easily. I get decent download speed and don't play online games that need a low ping, so I just live with it...
the thing is, this horrible ping just started yesterday night! Nothing was ever touched, so it must be their service... any other specualtions?
..... That little tidbit of information would've been helpful in the first post.
If it is their service, there is nothing you can do except call it in.
