Comcast in Chicago for business

Looking to purchase for a business located in Chicago, but I am worried about their uptime. They have some weird agreements and terms for their service....

If local infrastructure is good, then Comcast isn't bad...

edit: I would recommend RCN instead, since it serves in Chicago.

They have 20/2mbps for residential subscribers... <drools>

RCN is badass.. I pay 26 a month and get 6Mbps or higher and they gave me a free cable modem because they were too lazy to set up my old one lol.

Comcast seems pretty solid for my friends in Chicago, I never had a problem when I had it in the NW burbs of Chicago but I never had it in the city proper. They charge way too much for what they offer and they're generally complete assholes.

Yeah RCN isnt avail at our location...but their price is on target and none of this stupid promotional crap.

Comcast, you sign a 2-3 year agreement or you pay $15 more every month. Then if you want to get out of the agreement, its 75% of your remaining contract amount.....so they lock you in real good...

Cereal? I gotta get RCN installed =/

When/how do you get higher than rated 6Mbps? non peak hours?

In my neighborhood, RCN installed a whole new infrastructure, a few years back. I don't believe that there are a lot of subscribers, but my friend only gets his rated 1.5mbps speeds. I think that RCN thought a lot of people will subscribe and capped the connections. 🙁

I pay for the bottom tier package but always get the highest quality service... they seriously don't give a shit at RCN which is awesome. I live in a pretty popular area in Chicago with tons of subscribers I imagine but I've never had a service interruption and I always get consistently fast speeds. The upload kinda sucks but it's on par with comcast.
