I have the Motorola DCT6208 HDTV/DVR and its gotta DVI Port on it which I originallly thought wouldnt work because of all the compatibility issues, but today just for the hell of it I hooked it to my Dell 1901fp and to my surprise it worked(see screenshot), but it only shows video for about 5 secs. and then it cuts off, sometime it'll show the errror msg in the second screenshot.....my question now is that I know that its compatible so how do i get it to work.

NBC-HD on my 1901fp IT WORKS!!! but only for 5 sec
Error that comes on only sometimes....

I may be mistaken, but I think DVI (in this case) has issues passing the HDCP authentication along, since its not a standard used by todays PC monitors...basically the monitor doesnt know how to answer the HDCP request back, and the source kills the signal.

It recommends RGB because HDCP is only used on DVI or HDMI connections. Of course your 1901 only has VGA / SVid / DVI

MaxFusion16 is right.

The HDCP handshake takes between 3-5 seconds on average. Once it fails, the picture should disappear.

Copy protection. You think Comcast/Time Warner/Dish/DirectTV cares that you want to watch on your TV?

Face facts. You're not going to be able to connect your LCD to that receiver, digitally. You could go component to a VGA transcoder like the NextVision N6...
