Comcast HD digital do i need another CBox?

Unless you're lucky enough to have unencrypted HD signals being sent (highly unlikely), and assuming your TV has QAM (likely), it's possible. Usually you'll be able to get some or all of the locals in HD through the cable connection but if you want the entire spectrum of HD programming though Comcast you'll need a HD cable box from them.

Yes, or a CableCard (although you'd lose some interactive functionality even with that).

sometimes the Qam tuners are PITA to use as well. unfortunately, my TV doesn't have one, so I picked up this Samsung tuner to see how it worked.

not sure how the in-TV tuners function in terms of channel listing and menu, but I found this to be unusable. no working menu, channel jump, renumbering channels. (when Qam-tuned channels come in as 11-3768, being able to re-number them would be nice 😉)
