My wife has an interview with Comcast here in Cali. I think I remember someone saying that Comcast employees get free cable or something like that. Does anyone work for them, or know someone who does ?

It would be nice if they got free ISP service. My Comcast bill is $50/month ;)

My parents pay $95/month for Cablevision/Optimum Online. It is Family Cable and a 10-15mbps down and 1.5-2mbps up cable connection.

Cablevision is the cheapest/best out of all cable providers ever.

I am from Long Island, and Silver iO is like 65, and internet is like 40. It's sweet.

Right now, I am in the Triangle, and my cable + internet is like 120 a month, and thats promotional pricing. Thankfully I will only be here one month on non-promotional pricing.

From the Comcast website:

Free Cable and OnLine Service

Courtesy Cable - employees are provided with the basic service, all pay services, discounted Pay-Per-View, and two outlets. Eligible employees must be in a Comcast-serviceable area, or an area in which we have a reciprocal agreement with the local cable provider.

Courtesy OnLine Service - Employees living within a Comcast-serviceable area will receive one free cable modem, including installation. Employees are responsible for the purchase of the network interface card (NIC).

*For part-time employees benefits will vary depending upon hours/week.

IIRC the internet connection you get isn't capped if you're an employee, but you might want to double check that on DSLReports.

I believe they have TVs at work with the movie choice thing on them. A friend of mine did some consulting for them and worked in an office with a TV on the whole time.

I get free tv, all the hbo/cin/sho/tmc/starz stuff, one digital box, one dvr box (dual tuner), free online (8meg/768k) $15.00 telephone, a 17% discount on my cellphones.

It's a great company to work for.

$150/month for cable/net? What the hell are you watching/downloading? I use Yahoo DSL $25/month and Comcast Cable $18/month.

If I didnt get cable my internet alone would be like $60 a month. Digital cable is expensive, like $75 a month and the DVR is like $10 a month.

No DSL available in my area either. Even if DSL was available, I dont have a land line, just a cell phone.
