So is it possible to set a daily/weekly scheduled recording? I've only figured out how to navigate the guide and set a show to record manually each week.

I dunno the model number. I had to go request one with HDMI and it was the newest kind they had at the time. I actually pulled the plastic and some stickers off of the device myself.
 
Like a series recording? Where it records a show whenever it is on? Just find it in the guide and click the record button, it should be an option in the menu that pops up.

If you really want it to record every friday at 3:12 on some channel... I dunno
