Does anyone have the motorola dvr from comcast? I just got it today and have some questions.

It makes a squiggly sound. I know it has a hard drive but it sounds nothing like a computer hard drive. Is this normal?

My wife's parents have a dvr from time warner and it has the ability to record multiple programs at once and you can watch something other than that being recorded.

With the motorola you have to watch what your recording?!!?

You can only record 1 program at a time??

I thought this thing could record multiple programs at the same time, or at least let you watch something other than whats being recorded.

It has component outputs. I have component cables for my PS2 and the dvd's look amazing. If I get component cables will my cable TV look almost as good as my DVDs?

I don't know too much about Motorola's DVR, but it's very possible it only has a single tuner so you have to watch what you record. As for the component cables, the digital cable still won't look exactly like a DVD (unless you watch HD, in which case it'll be better). Still better than normal analog, except for the damn delay when switching channels ;)

Mines not a Motorola. I'll let you know which one I have when I get home.
With mine, I can watch 2 shows at once, record 2 shows at once and watch a recorded show, and record 1 show while watching another
I know this doesn't help much sorry.

Man what is up with motorola, I can only watch 1 program at a time and record 1 program at a time and cant change channels when your recording so you have to either watch a saved program or the program being recorded or not watch at all. Weak!!!
