Comcast DVR Buffer

Currently, my Comcast DVR will only buffer around 20 minutes of a show. Is there any way to increase the amount of time the DVR will buffer? I'd like to be able to rewind some programs more than the buffer will allow.
 
Record it.

If you are recording a program you will be able to rewind to the point that you tuned to the channel or when the recording began.

If you don't want it after, delete it.
 
The buffer on my DVR is only ~20 min. If I'm watching the game, and leave the room for a few minutes, I'd like to be able to rewind and catch any action I miss. Do I really have to record the event to be able to go past the 20 min. mark?
 
Yes, like you have noticed you only have a 20 minute buffer. To get anymore than that you have to record the game
